Experiement with Paid Web Directories Vs Free Web Directories

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Recently John Scott did a test on free directories, and paid directories. I’m waiting on his response right now of where the websites were submitted to against the paid directories which I’m just curious. The fact though is that submitting to paid directories are better then free directories speaking its a sponsored listing.

Another thing is that I notice there was a lot of confusion going on in the forum topic from people 2nd degreeing John which I probably wouldn’t do this in his forums. Quite Honestly I think what john is trying to state in his forums, and where people are getting confused at is free directories are not bad, but hes suggest to get some authority links first hand. Check the topic out by clicking here.

Building Brand Awareness

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Brand Awareness is very important when running an online company, and there is several factors to look at when building brand awareness. Typically a lot of people don’t pay attention to brand awareness, or even sometimes the invindual might be applying brand awareness with out even noticing there doing it, but if you ever wonder why someone is charging four times more then you, with twice as much business its due to brand awareness. Plus could be several other factors.

Web Directories - Sponsored Links Vs Regular Links

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

When submitting to web directories there are several factors to look at of course, and by all means sponsored listings are better. You might have to pay more, but the listings are way better. When you are doing a regular link submissions the links gets drop down to like page 5,10,20, and so on. Which this is not good for search engine purposes.

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

Search engine optimization can be very profitable in every aspect, but would you want to depend on organic listings your whole life, or would you like ppc listings too, and profit off both. Ask your self, would it be better to profit off organic listings and PPC (Pay Per Click). Now imagine the passive income streams you could create using both.

Outbound Linking (8 tips) - Improves Search Engines Rankings, or False?

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

I think outbound linking does help with search, even Jim Boykin(outbound Linking) would back me up on this one, and SEO Company. Which granted I guess it really don’t matter, but one thing I have notice about a lot of seos on the web is that that think outbound linking don’t help the relevancy of the page, this is either because there unexperienced, or still learning which granted there is nothing wrong with that.

Google Book Search

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Google book search is a very nice search engine to use to find books, I actually never played around with it until today after looking at the article “Google Book Search Becomes More Comprehensive“. I am subscribed to the rss feed, well anyways I search for the book PHP, and got some great results.

I typically read PHP books cause I find them interesting believe it or not, which I am a computer programmer, and search engine marketer, but the thing I notice about Google book search is that it returns very relevant results. Some other great things about it is that you can actually read a text preview, find it at a local library (to buy), or a place online to buy.

I highly recommended Google book search over any other book search. I like to read books every once and awhile. When I was growing up I never really liked to read books, but now I guess I’m just quite different. I was never very school orientated what so ever, anyways check out Google Book (book search), and Google Book Search.

Google Sports New Search Engine Interface Look

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

I notice Google has sported a new look on there main site at http://www.google.com, at first I notice it changed, but didn’t pay any attention. I take it they decided to change it because they changed there Google analytics look, and feel. I still like the old basic look, but its probably just because I’m not use to the new look yet, but well see how every talks, and feels about the new interface.

Matt Cutts does a questionnaire on buying text links.

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

Matt Cutts made a post recently about buying text links, and that he was going after text link buyers. Well since that article got so much traffic, and links he decided to do a questionnaire on some things, which you can view it at matt cutts how to report links. I don’t think Matt Cutts is going after all paid links, but he is devaluing link passing power to website that have casino links, adult sites, pharmacy sites, and things to that nature.

So if the website that has them type of outbound links they will lose there outbound link power. Mainly what there looking for is non relevant links, so if you have a site on web design, but you have links coming from adult sites, casino sites, or anything to that nature they won’t count. One thing I quite don’t understand is that all these websites out here like seos that build links, and tell you how they approved search engine rankings nothing is ever said to them, or the ranking wieght is not lost.

Passionate with social media can build a strong business model

Friday, May 11th, 2007

I strongly believe that if someone is passionate about there company / business / niche it will lead to success, I mean thats the hole goal right. Think about it if you don’t have strong desires for what you do more then likely you won’t achieve what you want to do. When someone believes in what they do, and know its right the chances are there going to succeed no matter what any one else has to say or thinks about what you do.
