Sunday, January 27th, 2008

I am setting here and actually doing some research on affiliate landing pages because I’m going to hop into the affiliate game and start promoting affiliate products and possibly become a super duper affiliate all star ;). Anyways here is some nice articles I have came up with and would suggest you reading below.

  1. Optimizing Affiliate Landing Pages: The name says it its a post Shawn Collins wrote up about optimizing affiliate landing pages. Shawn has a great blog to well he could probably share a little bit more of his secrets or give out more detailed information, but over all he has a great blog.
  2. Surviving Google Quality Landing Score: Amit I really like amt’s blog for some reason he is very responsive when you ask him questions anyways check out his QS (quality score) tips.
  3. When to Make A Landing Page FAQ: Great post by Jeremy, he answers a few questions on landing pages.
  4. Keyword Research Secrets to Explode Your Affiliate Campaigns: Another great post by Amit gives out some great tips on research keywords for affiliates.

That should be it for now I’ll keep every one up to date about my affiliate career I think it will do super good :)

The Web Is Loaded With Millions, but can you do it?

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

You know I’m setting here and just looking around at everything on my dual monitors and the internet and I come to the realization the web is loaded with money which I always have known that and have made some good profitable days, but the problem is the people that don’t make money on the web is because they don’t take up the opportunities.

I see people all the time that set around and cry about not making any money on the internet. I mean for crying out aloud you got people making 200k plus a month from affiliates like it ain’t no thing and this is something I’m moving more into is ppc and affiliates the reason being is because I’m fed up with organic search to be honest and I’d be damned if I’m going to let Google run my sites, so in other words I’ll continue doing what I do on organic search.

You know I have ranked some of the most competitive keywords out there printing, website design, and you name it I’ve done it, but one year ago I never imagined I would be doing any of that, but I knew it could be done, but what did it take to learn to develop them skills to do that well honestly I worked night and day for probably 13-15 hours a day for a whole year straight and now I could turn around and replicate all the things I’ve learned last year into 100 affiliate sites this year I mean its that simple and I could do it 100 times faster with 100 times less time because I already know what it takes to get the job done, so in other words thats a trade ;).

So can any one do what they want to do in my honest opinion I highly believe so, and another thing is don’t let no one hold you back on your ideas or say you have bad ideas because I’ve been told that a lot of times or I have even been told well thats them not you, but what happen I followed what I believed and it worked!

So don’t be a wimp and put your mind into what you want to accomplish and don’t give in because there is millions to be made on the web, but the thing is can you actually set back and put a shit load of time into what your doing to get to that point if not then you mells well forget about living the entrepreneur live believe in your self, your product, or whatever your trying to do and watch the reality come true the thing is when you work at something hard enough it starts to make sense and comes together thats just how it works.

For example if you have the mindset of making millions its a very good possibility that you will hit that level, but the thing is a lot of people don’t think like that they think well if I can make this much this month that will be ok and right there is where your going wrong before you can become big you have to believe big you might not see a clear picture at first, but after so long of thinking in that direction you’ll notice you’ll start heading in that direction.

Maybe this don’t work for every one, but it sure does work for me to be honest with you.

Also check this post out called Making Money Over Night Jeremy wrote it about making money on the web this would be a prime example of what I’m referring to above maybe not exactly the same, but Jeremy does get into the part about are you willing to keep doing what your doing over, over again until you find out what works well I wouldn’t say over, and over again, but mainly keep trying and see what results you get then replicate them.

You know thats exactly how I figured organic search out I started experimenting with my own sites I mean literally night and day of working and sometimes I felt like I was getting no where, but all sudden things just started to move and work out its kind of hard to explain what I’m saying it was just like a repeat process that I did and I developed new strategies that worked and kept replicating them and thats what I was referring to earlier I could literally replicate the same strategies that I’ve used on organic search and put it up ageist 100 affiliate websites and I could do it pretty fast, but then again I had to put a lot of time into what I was doing to get to that level….

You know one day I created major buzz on digital point and before I know it my phone was ringing off the hook people telling me joe blow recommended you because you hit the top 3 for website design in 5 1/2 months and then even Jim Boykin was sending me his clients when they got backed up, so I knew I was doing something right, but you know what now this year I’m going to step in the affiliate game and make super affiliate cash :).

Continue Doing what Clients Want

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

You know I’m going to continue doing what 95 percent of our clients want and thats brokering links to them or finding them high quality releavnt natural looking links from relevant resources just like the Google guidelines suggest. I mean if you ask me it seems that Google has stated to get links from relevant websites now what exactly does that mean get links from relevant websites the perception I get from it is to basically e-mail someone or anything similar to see if you can get a link from them I see nothing wrong with that what so ever.

You know I was reading  Shoemoney’s blog awhile back where he did an interview with someone high up that worked for Ask and Yahoo I tried finding the post, but I can’t seem to find it, but anyways they even said that there is nothing wrong with link exchanges and similar things to that nature as long as your staying in a releavnt area. This was the good old fashion way of getting rankings that or getting links from relevant websites and there was nothing wrong with it, but now days you have to follow these steps into getting indexed by Google (or should I say staying indexed).

I’m not the person filled with hate or anything like that and its just not me, but I will tell you this and be straight out honest what you what Google is in the process of doing is programming people to go by there guidelines and as people start to follow there so called new guidelines they will continue to get more strict then before you know it there going to have you following every single command they tell you thats just basically is what happening.

If any one would to disagree with me I’d have to say your crazier then h***.  Anyways I have moved on and I’m tired of worrying about the so called rules because honestly they pick and choose who they want ranking or who is aloud to have web directories and similar things to that nature, so now I’m moving more into affiliate marketing and PPC because you can’t do anything right when it comes to Google and plus I mind mind has bee set on affiliates the last few days and I see it becoming a very profitable niche, but I will continue posting viral content on my website like usually cause it helps with organic search, but if clients calls me and wants links were going to do what they want thats just us.

Don’t Depend On Google - Build an Empire

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

The thing is with Google its always changing and its algorithm are always updating and plus on top of that you never know when you might wake up one day and see your Google rankings gone, so what does this tell you don’t depend on Google for your business. Which granted I’m not saying search engines are a bad thing they can be very powerful as far as generating leads come, but what if something was to happen and your out of the game you’d be screwed.

This is the exact reason you need to focus on building a brand at the same time when I refer to building a brand build a name that people will talk about through out social networks and etc some ways of doing this is to build a blog, blogs are excellent for building brand awareness, but at the same time your building community traffic.

I mean think of it would you whether have a ton of people remembering who you are and talking about your name through out social networks plus generating search traffic or would you want to be someone that just depends on organic search night and day and always sweating about your rankings, so in other words don’t put your eggs all in one basket because Google does what they want and they have no mercy for any one they don’t care what happens to your site I mean sad to say honestly thats how it works.

Which I’m not saying Big G is a bad search engine at all I think its a wonderful search engines in many ways, but what I am saying is do not put your eggs on all one basket like I said try to build quality content and even check out pay per click which PPC is a very competitive market, but if you learn to master PPC you can make a fortune thats for sure a good way of becoming a good PPC marketer it to start promoting Affiliates.

If you can become an effective affiliate marketer then you could pratically build any business you wanted with then a quickness through PPC the reason I say that for is because affiliate marketers only have a certain margins to work with such as 3 percent to 25 percent, but websites like ecommerce sites and etc you have a lot larger margin to work with sometimes 50 percent plus depending on your inventory and what you do.

So give it some thought and always keep in mind to find new channels to market through and don’t ever depend on one thing to bring you business because that one thing could hurt you big time focus on building a name people will talk about so pratically your business moves on its own once your name gets out there and its moving around everywhere you know you have built a true profitable empire that can never be stopped.

Replicating What Works

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

You know I’m setting here and just read a comment on someones blog post that was directed to me and I highly doubt the guy even knows what hes talking about some people just think your going to go out and make a million dollars over night which yes its possible to make a shit load of money over night (excuse my language), but before that actually takes place you have to put your time in specially if you’ve never experienced with it before.

For example when I first got into the SEO scene I use to always wonder how people were getting there rankings it just dazzled me, but then I got to thinking about it if they can do it why can’t I well as I started working I found out what was making it work or I should say what was making the keywords rank.

After I discovered what worked I replicated it over, over, and over again then I discovered this was simple and before I knew it my phone started ringing off the hook, but did this happen over night no not really to be honest with you I just really started finding out what worked here in the last 4-5 months when I say work I mean literally work we had one client we put into the top 3 for printing.

I’ve had clients think it was impossible to rank certain keywords because it was such a competitive market, but I proved them wrong and I developed these strategies over time not over night, but now that I developed the strategies I can build online business 10 times quicker then what I use to because I got the resources and etc to do what I want to do.

So quite honestly to be successful on the web you need to put your time and find out what works for you the thing is with the internet if you work at it hard enough you can literally make millions I believe that there is room for any one to grow on the web. Now if you was running a small local business or a small company that had nothing to do with the web it would be a lot harder to grow specially in smaller towns unless you was someone that was really innovative and had a good idea something that would come into use into a market, but the thing is with the internet is that you really don’t have to have a bunch of money to start anything maybe a little bit.

Which don’t take me wrong money helps a lot, but the thing is with the web like I was stated its about a lot of knowledge, so in other words more knowledge the better. Also knowledge will help you move onto them levels that will give you money to grow faster, but before you start investing your money your going to have to know what works and what don’t works you just don’t want to be someone that just jumps into the game and start blowing money out the wall unless you are someone thats got the cash to do it, but anyone with the right head on there shoulders will do research before they invest, but either way i guess would work because sometimes you have to invest money to see if you get ROI back from it.

Anyways back to what I was saying just find out what works then replicate it and once you find out what works if you can invest money into that area to make it move faster then start heading that direction, but keep in mind don’t always put your eggs in one basket discover multiple souces for online income because the internet constay changes, so don’t get too comfortable with one area just keep your head up strong and enjoy the fast life of the web, but at the same time make lots of money.

Google Rankings Have Changed Dramatically

Friday, January 18th, 2008

We have had some altering in our rankings big time in one particular data center which I wrote about the other day. Its kind of irritating to be honest. I was thinking something was wrong with our website, but then again I was thinking there has to be nothing wrong with our website its the same as usual.

Well I started to search around and I noticed a lot of people have been having similar problems from the same data center that we our having problems from, so I’m wondering if this is an algorithm change or what. I’ve seen this happen before, but not even near as a big of drop as what happened this time and I’ve even seen keywords completely disappear from SERP’s, but then all suddenly they reappear.

For example take a look at these articles, postings, and discussions from other people that have been having problems.

Huge Drop in US Google: This guy claims that his site has dropped dramatically from US Google only, but not any other data centers.

Huge Rankings Change!: This guy claims he has lost his rankings too, which I’m not sure on the full specs of his keywords and what datacenters hes referring to.

Also there was a post over at Digital Point that has now been deleted the guy was ranking for Bidding Directory, but now hes all the way on page 300, but on all other data centers hes ranking just fine. If you check out Google Webmaster Central Help you’ll find out a lot of people have been experience a dramatic drop in rankings and they all seem to be having problems from the same data center, and better yet pay attention to the discussion boards over at Digital Point and if you notice some of the people that are claiming they have lost there rankings for certain keywords its only from one data center, but if you search all other data centers using Google Datacenter Watch tool from McDar you’ll notice there showing up on all other data centers.

It seems that all these rankings are coming from one data center and that is .147, if you look at the Google Datacenter Watch Tool and click on the .147 radio button, and then look to the very first window to the left that is where all the rankings seem to be disappearing at, but all other data centers seem to be working fine.

For example Vkistudios.com is ranking on page 2 for internet marketing on all data centers, but if you view that one data center under .147 that I was referring to in the last paragraph you’ll notice its not there just like many other websites.

Like I’ve said I’ve seen this happen before, but not as bad I guess I could say, so my question to you guys have you notice a dramatic alter in your rankings or seen similar problems that I’m seeing across discussion board and etc?

Conducting Keyword Research For Affiliates

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

I was just setting here and researching the best ways to do keyword research for PPC (Pay Per Click) because I was actually testing out some affiliates and was going to start promoting them for extra income, but then I bumped into a great post by Amit who runs a blog called Super Affiliate Mindset.

He wrote a post called Keyword Research Secrets to Explode Affiliates, and I really liked the post the reason being is because he pratically tells you what you need to do to conduct a keyword research for affiliates and could of not made it any cleared on how to mime up keywords and build your affiliate income.
He also mentioned to think outside the box and that right there is the key to success anyone that can think outside the box in any business model has it made you have to find your niche which granted replicating some things does work, but not everything some things are just to flooded with every one doing it.

Don’t take me wrong you can replicate things or pay attention to what other people are doing and learn a lot from it, but you have to know where to look to find the information, but at the same time knowing what works for you. A lot of people pay attention to what every one else is trying that doesn’t work or they all think the same..

You need to find out what works for you and work it also if your thinking about getting into the affiliate game check out Amit’s blog its a great place to start finding very educational information some other places that offer great advise for affiliate marketing you can find below

Kris Jones Blog (CEO of Pepperjam): Kris’s blog covers company information, videos, affiliate tricks, and etc. I have seen him give out some valuable information through out his blog at certain times.

Shoemoney: Jeremy Shoemaker has an excellent blog I’m sure you’ve heard of Shoe money every one knows shoe.

Revenue Wire: I haven’t had much time to read revenue wire, but from what I see it seems to be a great blog with highly educational detailed information.

There is a ton of affiliate blogs out there, but only so many good ones. When I look for blogs I look for the ones that are more in depth and offer educational information which granted it’s nice to hear about people personal life at certain times, but I shoot for the ones that are more focused in certain areas if you know what I mean.

Should you depend on Search Engines?

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

You know some brands depend on search engines which theres nothing wrong with that, but you always want to have something else to fall back on I mean for real you can’t depend on Google your whole life who knows they might just all suddenly decide to change something around that effects every body. I really got to thinking of this today when I noticed our site wasn’t showing up for certain keywords which I explained in a recent post called Google Serps Changed Over Night.

Now imagined your website just vanished from the SERP’s and you did nothing wrong at all, but Google decided to chagne a algorithm around and you lost 50 percent of your traffic or even all of it then what would you do, me personally I would be pretty frustrated thats why I say you shouldn’t depend on them 200 percent. There is many other areas you can focus on that can make you a gold mine and people use it all the time and thats Pay Per Click or even Blogs.

Blogs

Lets start with blogs, blogs can be hard to build up, but are well wroth the time. If you take the time out and build a blog up and your subscriber list you can get major exposure from it plus a lot of natural links which search engines love, but the main idea behind building a blog up is brand recognition and the viral effect any one knows thats famaliar with blogs knows they can create one hell of a viral market that spreads and which results in more sales.

The downfall about blogs i they do take time and honestly not every blog succeeds in the web 2.0 space there is only so many good blogs out there, but if you are persistent and stay motivated the chances of your succeeding will be a lot higher and eventually your train will roll in with a blog, but its something that takes a lot of encouragement and work to get going, but like I said its well worth it.

Pay Per Click

Pay Per Click is extremely powerful speaking you use it right there has been several companies that have grown from little in house companies to fortune 500 companies and better yet look at these affiliate marketers making millions a year by using PPC and promoting affiliates now ask your self why can’t you do the same for your business, I see no reason why not.

The thing is with pay per click its just like anything if you want to be successful at it your going to have to give it all you got and it will take time unless your someone that gets lucky and just start ramping up with cash over night which that don’t happen to every one I mean granted it has happened to people, but its rare. I talked to Jeremy Schomaker a few times through e-mail actually a lot and he said he actually didn’t start becoming successful until his last 3-4 years he also mentioned if he has been successful at anything that is failing at business because he went 10 years with making no money and was in 50k plus debt and I’ll be honest I really think Jeremy he is doing very well now speaking he probably does a million + a year off the web I’m not sure how much he does, but I know he does damn good.

Conclusion
So do you have multiple sources for income on the web and traffic, most certainly, but do you have the time and effort to put into what you want that right there is the problem a lot of people know what they want, but they don’t apply it intellectually, so give it some thought and don’t ever get discourage and don’t depend on Google for everything.

1/16/2008 Major Serp Changes Over Night

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

I woke up last night and was just checking some of our rankings and just doing the general search, but then next thing I know our site was completely gone, so I panic and then I checked my webmaster central and everything seem to be fine and we haven’t been doing anything to get penalized we never do our site is white as it gets.

Then I was thinking maybe our site got hit because I just changed a bunch of titles (100’s of pages) so I go to the webmaster re inclusion to send them an e-mail asking them what happen, but then I got to thinking of it why not search the data centers to see if our website is showing up in other data centers well sure enough it was they was showing on every single data center.

Well by this time I’m not to worried about it, but then I’m thinking in my head why is our site not showing up on our data center for and about 4 hours go by I’m working answering some e-mails, taking calls, doing interviews, and etc then all suddenly I’m thinking duh Tyler check social networks and see if any one else is having any problems and sure enough every one is having issues and all the people that are having issues live in Indiana or close by Indiana so the data is coming from the same data center.

I figured this out of course by using the Google Data Center Search Tool and I notice the keywords that other people were complaining about was the same data center I was having issues with also these people lived close by and honestly I’ve seen this happen before and everything went back to normal, but this roll was pretty hard I’m still positive everything will be back to normal I see a ton of sites missing out of the SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages) after I started researching it.

So should you be worried, absolutely not it will level back out just give it a few days. Also keep in mind to always check social networks if your having some odd problems with your site you never know every one else might be having the same issues Digital Point is always the best place to check and by far is the most active forums on the web.
