Controversy on the web
You know controversy is actually a good thing as long as its not too negative. If you have stirred up some controversy then you are doing something right. I’m not saying try to stir up controversy, but if it happens it happens. The reason it probably happens is because your a true promoter in my book. You promote like a mad man, and this will make you succeed, in my terms it would be considered a smart marketer. Now don’t go making every one mad by any means.
I was talking to John Chow the other day VIA through AIM and he was going on about that and controversy, he actually did a post on it which I’m not sure which one it was, but you can find them at the bottom there all related. Anyways if a lot of positive things are happening to your site and then eventually controversy gets stirred up here and there thats a plus plus. You want that, if every one was all happy all the time, and etc the excitement would be gone and plus it just generally don’t work that way, I’d say some of the best marketers out there know how to stir controversy up and then turn it around if you get my drift.
They say controversy is the best technique for link bait and viral marketing which I agree in one aspect. Just keep promoting and you’ll eventually get the drift, also stick around read my next post which will be on comments, how to handle negative comments I got one from someone threating me like crazy it was pretty funny, but take a look at the next post.
