Google analytics is by far the best for recording your traffic, and etc. It shows about everything you need, and is very user friendly, and very accurate. Aw stats is very inaccurate on the other hand and I would not suggest using it one bit. Aw stats reads off the wall measurements from 3x as much traffic as what analytics says.

The reason for this is because awstats reads everything from robots, and etc which I haven’t looked to far into it, but I do know its very inaccurate, plus Google analytics is pretty simple you just drop the code on your page and your off. With Googlel analytics you can tell where your visitors are coming from whether Mexico, or US and show the city.

The thing I like about Google Analytics a lot is the bounce rate that it shows, and it shows where your traffic is conveying to, and if you notice your traffic is not tunneling into your inner pages that you desire well maybe you just need to change some text, or the approach you use on your website I have made some changes on my sites that have took my bounce rate from 70 percent to 50 percent, its amazing how just a few words can change this.

So if your not using Google Analytics I would highly suggest using it on top of any other traffic meters.
