Paypal Security, and Protecting your self from internet fraud
I decided to write about this article for many reasons, one I am concerned about all the issues on the web today, and I have seen many bad things go on, and myself have been getting a lot of pay pal notifications telling me to verify my password cause they think there is suspicious activity going on, when its actually a hacker.
I’d have to say there is a lot of scamming going on with pay pal, and there is several things to look for when receiving a pay pal verification for you account, for one pay pal will never ask you for your account information, unless directed by you, or you are in the middle of a conversation with them on the phone, and have called them directly.
Now I’m sure some of us have gotten e-mails from certain places telling us that we need to verify our pay pal account, I have gotten several of this is someone trying to gain your paypal account, once you open that link, and enter you details into the input box, it sends your password, and user name to a remote server for a hacker to record.
You can always look at the link, and tell its not a “actual” pay pal site, these sites will look just like pay pal, but will actually be ran on another domain name, for example www.yourname.com, and if you look at your address bar you will notice that its not paypal, so always watch out for that, you know I got a quite of few of them, and actually keep getting them for some reason, so I figured I would enter in the password, and user name I caught you hacker just to have some fun with them, and you know when it goes to the next screen it has sent this information in, so always watch for things to that nature.
There is plenty of things, and scammers on the Internet, and some of these guys make a great living at it in a unethical way cause its wrong, but we can defend these type of people, and be just as smart as them by not giving your information to them, so always watch what type of e-mails your receiving, and what people are asking your for cause you never know.
