Bad Neighborhood Directories
I am going to discuss bad neighborhood directories, and how they can effect your site. I guess I wouldn’t say effect your site, but won’t help it any in the search engines serp(search engine result page) that much.
Search engines love sites with a lot of inbound links, and I’d have to say from experience anchor text on quality inbound back links will boost your serp level big time, so therefore the quality of the link is very important.
Bad Neighberhood sites you want to avoid these can make you look very bad when trying to achieve high rankings in search engines specially google which is the by far most popular search engine on the web today. I don’t think it can really hurt your site, but I know it can’t help, but its not worth the chance of taking.
Bad Neighberhood sites would be any of the following below
- Sites that contain sex, drugs, pokers, or anything to that nature.
- Sites that have been known for spamming search engines
- Drug related sites
- Hidden Text on pages
- Link Spamming
I would suggest staying away from any of these sites that are doing the following, I think you should get the idea now, kind of like if your hanging out with bad guys/girls then every one elses perspective will be the same 90 percent of the time.
This is the same for search engines, if you have a lot of bad linked sites to you the se’s will start to wonder why you in such a big “bad neighbor hood”.
