Inbound Linking Tips

Inbound linking is very important for search engine optimization purposes of course, but what do you look for when you are getting inbound links. Well I think I have went over this numerous times, but let me get a little more into depth. I will also list a few links below that are considered spam sites by me, and carry hardly any value what so ever or if they even have value.

Take a look at the list below, these are very important to me in my opinion.

  • Check how many outbound links there is.
  • Relevancy, does the site have poker, porn, and pharmaceutical outbound links
  • Is the website filled with nothing, but low quality and nothing but links
  • Low quality content
  • No editorial status
  • Not listing in Google

Pay attention to this type of stuff, also I had someone message me the other day wanting to do a reciprocal link exchange and they must of been out of there mind. Because 1 I don’t give links out on my website since my website is considered an authority site and is ranking highly for very competitive key terms which pr hasn’t updated yet. Regardless I know my website has to carry some authority, but take a look at the links below.

Now take a look at the sites, these are just straight out spam links. I wouldn’t doubt it if Google has just straight out right took there outbound linking power. The guy sent me a list of probably 30 websites, and I was not happy with it quite honestly these must be some of the most spammy websites I have seen.

When your going to get your link placed on a website make sure it has some editorial status, and has some good content at least and then you should be ok.
