What types of links do you need?
Link with then content are the best. They are natural looking, and pratically undetectable. Thats why contextual links are great! When you hire a link builder, or you build links you always want to focus on getting links with then content, or at least high editorial links if your buying them. Stay away from the spammy pages such as links page, resources pages and etc. Granted a few here and there may not hurt you, but having 900 links and thats all the links you have and there all coming from reciprocal links pages don’t expect to get all the value in the world from them if any.
Its all about linking with then the content to the content. If that made any sense. Even Jim Boykin will back me up on this post now that I remembered he wrote a post called Links With then Content , Linking to Content in the post hes goes over why content hosted pages are so great. Granted presell pages might be expensive, but they are well worth it if you pick the right ones, and convert ROI properly.

Website Design links, who in the right state of mind is going to be so blunt. You might as well just tell Google to take all the page rank from this page, or I should say the outbound link juice. I would not doubt it if Google by now has a team of people searching the web daily for stuff like this and filtering them out.
Resource Linux Web host, Heres another example, see how the url says resources? This might be somewhat undetectable, but I’m sure Google team is not morons. I mean half of these links on this page are probably reciprocal links.
Think Technology Service, Take a look at this see at the top is says if you want to do a link exchange with us please contact us? Sounds a little fishy there goes another links page, its dead. Probably No credit what so ever.
Now take a look at these pages below these would be the links that would be more considerable.
Dot Square, This one is probably not that bad it looks a little bit more legit, little bit more high editorial style.
Saturn Web Hosting, Now this page has better chances of surving the filters most certainly. This page looks more natural. It could be who knows the owner might of just wanted to link out to people and give out some high quality resources cause believe it or not a lot of people do. They find interesting website, or service and they link to it. I use to all the time when I was newer with the web.
SEO and Search Marketing, This page don’t look that bad, it should be acceptable.
Which a lot of them links I just showed are not necessarily considered a content link, but I’m just giving you somewhat an idea of what type links to stay away from, and what ones are ok. Theres nothing wrong with trading links, and etc, but make sure when your doing it its not a website that has a million outbound links going to numerous unrelated resources, and just straight out spammy looking.
