A good link from a bad link, does lower quality links have a negative effect?
I would say a good link is a higher pr level links like around 6-10, which we don’t see to many 10’s at all, or 9s, and if you have 9 your very lucky, well not lucky , but have made good progress in your work. Now a good link will give you a better boosting in the serps compared to a lower quality link, but this don’t make a lower quality links “bad”.
Lower quality links are not so “bad”, they still will give you a boost in the serps, when i first started this website i did noting but lower quality links to be honest with you, and used my keyword in the anchor text, and I would say this is how a lot of other people start out too inless they have some other way of sending traffic to build “natural” inbound links.
Realize thought higher quality links are always better to get, and if you go to Dewitts Top Voted Directories you’ll see a lot of information on top voted directories that we have found to most effective, I would have to say these work out quite well.
Which granted if you don’t’ have the money to wipe that hole list out, just start with some lower quality ones that is located on our site in the free directories part, and put effort into article submissions, theres nothing that hard work won’t pay off for.
