Improving your website Traffic - Onsite Optimization

Some important factors of on site optimization is very considerable by the search engines, but remember this is just a small percentage of the credibility that search engines take in. I would say msn looks upon keywords in the meta tags more then what Google does, which msn, Google, yahoo they all value inbound links.

Onsite Optimization - This is very important, well every algo optimization is important, but remember when doing onsite optimization try to use header tags which will be tags are considerable when you place your keywords inside of these tags, the search engines value them more.

  • Valuable html tags would be your bold, strong, h1, h2, h3, h4, a href.

The credibility is too ken higher on these certain keywords place in these html tags, always try to keep your density around 6-10 percent. From my experience I have tried to keep it at 8 percent, and found this to be effective. The title tag plays an important role, and I’d say a very important roles, try to use your main keywords in your title tag, but don’t go keyword stuffing crazy. Make your title very legit looking, but have the known keywords your aiming for in there.

Meta Tags, now meta tags I would have to say are not used much anymore, but known search engines that still do use meta tags are msn, yahoo, and few others. Using them would be a good suggestion, this might help a little, once for some odd reason I was ranked very high in msn for a strong competitive keyword, and I changed my meta tag, and boom I lost my position, and ever since I have not been back in there.

Description - Always use a fine well written description in your meta tags, which google most of the time will scan through your pages, and then show certain body area when showing it description. So basically what it does is when you search for a keyword, it will scan through the body, and then show usually a paragraph by that keyword, which then again I have notice Google to show meta tag descriptions.

Static URL vs Dynamic URLS - Google values the url the same, but it has been known that Google indexes static urls fast then dynamic, which Matt Cutts go little deeper into this by checking this link out he will explain a little bit more about mod rewriting, and how it should be done.

Directory Submission, well Directory submission is very important in seo, but I would highly suggest higher quality directories, but the lower end quality directories will work, but don’t have near the effect what a quality directory would have, and always be aware to look for bad links that are listed in such directories cause this could have a negative effect on your website.

Link Baiting - Always build a website that is unique and thats going to draw peoples attention this can create a link bait effect, if its a good website, and other people that are “highly interested” in it they will link you, not saying that they will all the time, but the quality of your site could cause them to bookmark it, and thats the idea build a quality site, so they will bookmark it, and come back.

Try to build a website that is very creative for your users, where they will enjoy reading what you have to offer, or very important information that is going to be useful towards others, rather its educational information, or something that your good at in your field.

Content kills - Websites that have large amounts of content are always liked by search engines, and therefore more pages on your site, but be sure to always look for quality rather, then building a bunch of pages that would not be useful to any one

You could have 10,000 pages, but if this content is not valuable to your visitors, then why come back, why spread the word, why bookmark it, or what would be the purpose.
