SEO Fundamentals Guide
I haven’t been posting as much because I’m in the process of writing a fundamentals guide up for clients and any one else that would like to read it. The fundamentals guide will cover the basic concept of Search Engine Optimization and have some very reliable sources tied into it. Take a look below at what the fundamentals guide will cover.
1. What is SEO
1.1 What Is SEO - This chapter will mainly go over the part such as what search engine optimization is of course.
1.2 Why is SEO important to have - This will go into explanation why search engine optimization is important and why you need it.
2. How Search Engines Work
2.1 Crawling and Indexing - This chapter will go more in depth about how the search engines crawl and index and goes a little bit into the details about where the data is stored and how the data is stored.
2.2 Human-Powered Directories - In this chapter the following topics will how web directories work and how they can be beneficial for you.
2.3 Keyword Querying - Well cover topics such as how keyword queries work, what a keyword query is, how the search engine determines its results, and more.
2.4 Meta Tags - Topics will be covered such as where meta tags get placed, the mostly used meta tags, and why meta tags are not as beneficial as what they use to be.
2.5 Content Density - Topics will be covered such as density of keywords on a website and how important they are.
2.6 What Determines Rankings - This topic is one of my more favorite topics well go into factors such as what determines rankings, and how to achieve higher rankings.
2.7 Data Centers - How to use data centers and what they are.
2.8 Architecture Overview
2.8.1 Introduction - Introduction to the architecture of search engines
2.8.2 Repositories (Where the web data is stored) - Where and how the data is stored
2.8.3 The Ranking System - The anchor text and Page Ranking System
3. Keyword Research Components and Identifying
3.1 Identifying Keywords - The rules of identifying Keywords.
3.2 The Long Tail - Goes over the long tail searches such as what they are and how to use them.
3.3 The Broad Term - The broad term is quite more competitive, but can have some encouraging results.
3.4 What Converts Better - Goes over topics such as the long tail and the broad term such as what converts better.
4. Factors of Optimization and Marketing
4.1 Content Optimization - Covers the content optimization topics of SEO.
4.2 Inbound Links - My all time favorite inbound links discusses why inbound links are the most important aspect of search.
4.3 URL - Goes over a few topics such as proper url optimization and why its important for.
4.4 Domain Age - Covers topics such as domain age and why its important.
4.5 Page Rank - Cover the page ranking system that Google has created.
4.6 Content Production - Goes over topics such as content production, and why its important to always promote content.

5.1 Design - Why a high quality design is a vital factor of search and conversions.

5.4 User Interface - This is just basically a conclusion from 5.1 - 5.3.
6. Social Networking and Communications
6.1 Blogs - Why blogs are important to have and how they can benefit your website from a marketing point of view.
6.2 Forums - What a forum is and how to build a community with it.
6.3 Social Networking Websites - Covers social networks such as Digg, Reddit, Stumble Upon and more.
6.4 Building and Leveraging Online Communities - Why leverage online communities is important and a few tips on how to leverage the communities to generate more sales and for search engine purposes.
I’ll probably go over the whole guide 4-5 times before its released such as adding images, proof-reading, and etc. Its pretty much almost done, but this will be a great manual for any one to read, and plus our clients. It mainly just covers the fundamentals of SEO so it would be an excellent guide for someone wanting to get there feet wet, or even the more experienced user could benefit from it.
