SEO Tip of the week old domains vs new domains
Older domains always rank better in the search engines, this is a proven fact, we was doing work on a clients website who is the largest reseller for hallmark ornaments, and the guy hardly had no links what so ever, but was ranking for competitive keywords like Hallmark Ornaments, which is very popular, plus he was coming up for numerous keywords on all of his pages which he had over 500 pages indexed in Google.
The domain is ranking back to 1998, so thats a plus plus with Google I’d have to say links from older sites and older domains out weigh anything almost when it comes to SEO, or that is the most vital important thing is domain age, and then links, so my suggestion would be to any one building a new website if there in a hurry to get rankings and traffic I would considerably buy a old domain, and then start building links to it.
The best domains to buy are domains dated before 2000 if you ask me, and from my experience. When buying the domain make sure that its indexed in Google, and other major search engines, and always do a whois at Network Solutions cause I have notice there has been a lot of scam artist trying to say there domains are older then what they read, and typically a domain whois is not going to put out false registry information, this is hard lined into the system.
The best place to buy old established domains is probably places like Digital Point Forums and similar places like that, you can find a hand full of old domains at DP.
So my tip is from a seo stand point if you wanting to build your site quick, buy an old domain thats somewhat established, but make sure its relevant to your niche / topic, otherwise plan on getting a penalize if you get caught from having non irrelevant anchor text, and links. (maybe a few is okay, but not 100)
