Beginners Guide to Social Networking
Networking on the web is vitally important you can manage a lot of things by networking such as creating more friends that will spread your name for you. I know I have made a lot of friends on the web and they send me clients and talk good about me on the, so its a plus plus by every means. If your wondering how you can meet new friends through the web 2.0 sphere and network with new people its simple take a look below and I’ll get more into details on how you can network with people.
1) Join Communities
Joining communities can be very beneficial this is one way I have met a lot of people such as clients, friends, and associates, so I would have to say I have met a ton of people through social networks and a lot of them still come back today in my early days of building our company well I can’t say our early days because were still in our early days, but in the beginning I did a lot of networking with people which I still do, but not as much as I did I communicated with people got to know people and back then I hardly knew anything close to what I know now, so how did this benefit me?
- It Built my Brand: The reason I said it built my brand for is because I worked very hard and manage to achieve a lot over 1 year period and a lot of people seen that we manage to go in the top 5 for the keyword website design in 5 1/2 months by this time the phone begin ringing and I start hiring contractors, but at the same time people starting sending me clients because they was impressed by it when I say people I’m referring to very well known people that speak at SES conferences and etc so I created some buzz in a way.
- I learned a lot: I learned a lot from joining social networks and a lot of other people tipped me off on things and I’ve come back to tip them off on certain things I’ve learned.
- It gave me more leverage: It gave me more leverage for example half the people I’ve met in the early days (there I go back to the early days) I have pratically used them as leverage for certain services or products we offer now such as our contextual links we offer I called them all up told them about it and I made very profitable sales maybe not all of the people I have met through social networking bought the links, but they either knew who wanted them or pointed me in the right direction.
Joining communities can be beneficial if you leverage them properly which don’t get too caught up in other peoples communities remember to focus on your own brand and building your own community at the same time, and plus search engine traffic is excellent for conversions. Generally if you build a community on your website the traffic stats will be way higher and search engine traffic will be way less, but search engine traffic will convert better, but then again that highly depends on what your promoting at the same time.
Regardless though the idea is to focus on all areas and leverage the areas.
2) Build Communities
Building a community can have a huge impact when your trying to promote your brand. If you have built a community up on your website you can tailor your community into buying your services, promote affiliates, run ads, and monetize it in many other ways and yes it takes a lot of work to build up a community on your website, read below and I’ll lay you tips on what you can do to build a community through blogs.
- Stay Focused: Stay focused when building a blog it takes time not every one blows up with then 6 months which granted it can happen, but you have to put a lot of effort into what you do.
- Create New Topics: Always create new topics which granted you can write about the same things over, over, and over again, but make sure you improve them in some way, so in other words differentiate your post just like you would in general marketing practices.
- High Quality Post: Keep in mind its not the volume its the quality of the post. Which granted the more post the better, but at the same time focus on the quality of your post.
- Be your self when you write: Be your self when you write, don’t hide your personality. When you are your self people feel more connected to you I mean think of it would you go out in public somewhere or a interview for something and totally not act like your self or try to hide your personality.
4) Leveraging Communities
Leveraging communities is simple, you just basically need to promote your products through your blog post, around your blog post, or monetize your website with ads. The idea behind leveraging is to build a community up then tailor your community into giving you links which will result in higher search engine rankings and plus when you have a community built up you can tailor your products like I stated just a second ago. Leveraging is something that takes practice specially if your a rookie, but practice makes perfect and thats about like anything.
The more and more you work at it the better it will get. If you learn to leverage your communities into multiple direction you got it made, but like I’ve said it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to build a community our community is still pretty small through our website to be honest, but the good thing is its growing constantly every day so were moving into a positive direction and as we grow we leverage things right now our main goal is to just keep promoting quality content and let our community grow which granted you will always have to promote quality content to keep your community alive, but once it gets alive you start leveraging it more and more.
