The Secrets of Hitting Front page of Digg
You know Digg is by far the most active social network on the web. Generally when people hit the front page of Digg they do it with out even knowing it, or I should say it happens when they didn’t even try, but there is secrets to hitting the front page. Its quite simple and its all in the title.
For example I did a post over at Digitalpoint a few weeks ago and its already got over 3,000 views. I did a simple post on how I achieved top ranking for website design in 6 months which is a highly competitive keyword. What happen my RSS subscriber blew up, and its still going up today, so you know what someone else did they did the same thing I did. Which there is nothing wrong with that there learning off similar marketing techniques I’m doing, they did a post called How I built 50,000 links in 11 weeks. Now Imagine that, they almost cloned what I did, but in a more stronger technique, and its getting pounded with views and he said in the post learn how I did this by subscribing to my feed.
Which he probably just got some site wide links, and really no rankings at all. Get my drift you can have all the links, but what are your rankings establishing? Are they good, whats your traffic like? Anyways smart guy he paid attention to what I did, now the same thing with Digg look for whats hitting the front page and is not hitting the front page. Keep an eye on the front page every day and see exactly whats hitting the front page, and pay attention to them titles and what you can do on a later date is use that same similar title, but make it a little bit more hooky, and more enthusing.
This is a very good technique that a lot of people won’t discuss. You can write the same post later on, use the same title, and watch the results. The thing is you want to make sure the title your going to use is from a site that had not traffic prior to that. The reason I say that is because the viral was all in the title alone. cause generally if its coming from a website that had a lot of prior traffic its probably got dugg so much from the site its self, like all the rss subscribers that were coming into the site.
